It’s possible for the iRobot Braava Jet to stop working completely and produce an error red light. In some cases, it can even beep as well. If this is happening to you, relax. We will show you why your Braava Jet is beeping and not working, including a step-by-step guide to fix it. Let’s get started.

Why is My iRobot Braava Jet Beeping?

There are two instances where a Braava Jet is beeping. It can beep while cleaning or charging.

If the Navigation System Indicator (NSI) is producing a red light accompanied with 3 beeps while cleaning, then a sensor is activated so the Braava Jet won’t start driving. Remove and reapply the cleaning cloth to fix.

If all of the lights are flashing on the Navigation System Indicator (NSI) and the robot is beeping while charging, then an incompatible adapter is used. To solve this issue, remove the incompatible adapter and use only the adapter included with the iRobot Braava Jet.

In addition to the beeping, a Braava Jet may stop working completely and produce a red light on the Navigation System Indicator (NSI). Below, we will show you how to troubleshoot the issue.

Braava Jet Complete Error Troubleshooting Guide

Error indicators on the Braava Jet’s Navigation System Indicator (NSI) while cleaning:

  1. Solid red light on the middle NSI - If the Navigation System Indicator (NSI) is showing a solid red light, then the Braava Jet is experiencing a system error. Press and hold the power button to turn the Braava Jet off. Vigorously rotate both wheels for 15 seconds then place the Braava Jet on the floor and power it on. Make sure a dry cleaning cloth has been applied. If the red light is gone, press Sweep. If the red light persists, contact Customer Support.
  2. Red light blinks 2 to 6 times on the middle NSI - If the Navigation System Indicator (NSI) is blinking red 2 to 6 times, then the Braava Jet is stuck in its environment and cannot free itself. Remove Braava from the situation and restart in a new area.
  3. Red light blinks 14 times on the middle NSI - If the Navigation System Indicator (NSI) is blinking red 14 times, then the Braava Jet has detected the motor is getting too hot. Turn the Braava Jet off and let it cool down before resuming cleaning.
  4. Red light blinks 15 times on the middle NSI - If the Navigation System Indicator (NSI) is blinking red 15 times, then the Braava Jet is stuck in an area that is too small and cannot free itself. Remove Braava from the situation and restart in a new area.
  5. Red light on the middle NSI when pressing Sweep or Mop, accompanied by 3 beeps - If the Navigation System Indicator (NSI) is producing a red light accompanied with 3 beeps, then a sensor is activated so the Braava Jet won’t start driving. Remove and reapply the cleaning cloth.

When reapplying the cleaning cloth, ensure the cloth does not overlap into the middle channel of the removable cleaning pad. Also, make sure the cloth is not bunching up, as it can prevent the removable pad from reattaching completely to the Braava Jet.

Error indicators on the Braava Jet’s Navigation System Indicator (NSI) while charging:

  1. Solid red light on the middle NSI - If the Navigation System Indicator (NSI) is showing a solid red light, then the Braava Jet is experiencing a system error. This is not a charging error, but will prevent the Braava from charging while the Braava is plugged in.
  2. Red light blinks 7 to 8 times on the middle NSI - If the Navigation System Indicator (NSI) is blinking red 2 to 6 times, then the Braava Jet is experiencing a charging error. For this issue, you need to contact Customer Support.
  3. All lights flashing on the NSI and buttons, while the robot is beeping while charging - If all of the lights are flashing on the Navigation System Indicator (NSI) and the robot is beeping while charging, then an incompatible adapter is used. Remove the incompatible adapter and use only the adapter included with the Braava.
