The Vax steam mop is a simple tool that cleans and sanitizes floors and carpets using steam only (without harsh chemicals). Here is how to use the Vax steam mop in 5 simple steps:

1. Fill the water tank

To fill the water tank, start by removing the floor head and handle. Turn the water tank cap anti-clockwise and lift it away from the main body. Then use the measuring jug provided to fill the tank completely. Twist the water tank cap clockwise to tighten. You can now attach the handle and floor head. 

Never turn the machine over when water is in the tank, as some water may leak through the air valve. It is normal for the water tube to make a rattling sound inside the water tank during use.

It recommended to use distilled or demineralized water for the Vax steam mop. Never put detergent or other cleaning chemicals inside the machine. It can cause damage and invalidate the guarantee.

2. Assemble the Vax steam mop

To assemble the Vax steam mop, push the main body down into the floorhead until it clicks into place. Then, push the handle into the main body until it clicks into place.

3. Use the microfibre cloth to clean hard floors

Place the microfibre cloth onto the floor head. For hard floors, make sure that it covers the entire floor head. Plug the Vax steam mop into an electrical outlet and turn the dial to the ON position.

The red light will illuminate and the Vax steam mop will be ready after approximately 30 seconds. During this time there will be no sound whilst it is heating up the water.

Twist the steam control dial to your required setting. Steam is activated automatically.

To clean hard floors, move the Vax steam mop in a back and forth motion to effortlessly clean and sanitize an area. Never leave the Vax steam mop in one spot for an extended period of time or with a damp or wet microfibre pad attached. The hot temperature may damage the floor surface.

Once you have finished, turn the dial to the OFF position and allow the steamer to cool down before removing the microfibre pad. Hold the corner of the pad down with your foot and lift the machine to peel away.

4. Use the carpet glider to refresh carpets

The Vax steam mop instructions for carpet are very simple. It’s important to keep in mind, however, that when using the Vax steam mop on a carpet, the carpet glider is attached.

Place the microfibre pad on the floor white side facing up. Place the floorhead onto the microfibre pad making sure the microfibre pad covers the entire floorhead.

With the microfibre pad attached, push the machine into the front of the carpet glider, then place the back of the floorhead into the clip. Plug the Vax steam mop into an electrical outlet and turn the dial ON.

The red light will illuminate and the Vax steam mop will be ready after approximately 30 seconds. During this time there will be no sound whilst it is heating up the water.

Twist the steam control dial to your required setting. Steam is activated automatically.

Place your foot onto the floorhead and pull the handle backwards to recline. Move the machine slowly backwards and forwards across the carpet paying particular attention to high traffic areas.

To release the carpet glider, place your foot on the clip and push down. Lift the machine to remove. Turn the dial to the OFF position and allow the steamer to cool down before removing the microfibre pad. Hold the corner of the pad down with your foot and lift the machine to peel away.

5. Transform the Vax steamer into a handheld unit for small areas

You can transform the Vax steam mop into a handheld unit.

It is possible for you to use the Vax steamer handheld. Remove the handle by pushing in the release button and pulling away from the main body. Press the release button and pull the floor head away from the main body. Push the concentration nozzle into the steamer until it clicks into place.

Plug the Vax steamer into an electrical outlet and turn the dial to the ON position. Twist the steam control dial to the desired setting and wait 30 seconds for it to warm up. To produce steam, squeeze the trigger in short bursts. Avoid continuously holding the trigger as you may saturate the area.

Your Vax steamer is now ready to use in its handheld mode.
