Are Dyson Attachments Interchangeable?
The attachments of Dyson V6 are not interchangeable with the other Dyson cordless stick vacuums. Only accessories designed for the Dyson V6 will work on the Dyson V6. The Dyson V6 uses a gray, one-touch connection. You simply press the button and pull the two pieces apart.
But, since the release of the Dyson V7, the company launched a new system that uses a red one-click button. A new color also inspired a new design. Most of the attachments are compatible with Dyson V7 and above.
With the exception of the mattress tool, mini motorized tool, and soft roller cleaner head, all attachments of the Dyson V7, V8, Cyclone V10, V11, Outsize, and V15 Detect are interchangeable. All of these Dyson vacuum models use the red one-click button accessory system.
One important thing to note is that using an attachment that is not compatible with a Dyson vacuum may void your warranty. Always use the correct attachment that is compatible with your Dyson vacuum.
