That said, there is more to the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI vs. Roborock S6 MaxV comparison than it meets the eye. After all, both have some of the best mapping technology. In this article, we will compare both exceptional robot vacuums from Ecovacs and Roborock and find out which one is more superior than the other.
Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI vs. Roborock S6 MaxV Comparison:
Quick Overview
Before we compare each robot vacuum, let us go over the similarities first. From the get-go, you can see that each robot vacuum is circular in shape, making each one identical to each other. The LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) sensor on both the Ozmo T8 AIVI and S6 MaxVV are located on top of the body.
However, the most important similarity between the two is the electronic water tanks. Both are famous for being two of the most impressive 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop hybrids. This feature allows both robots to either vacuum or mop at your command, all of which can be controlled via the smartphone app.
Now that you have had the chance to familiarize yourself with both amazing robot vacuums from Ecovacs and Roborock, let us compare the two. To figure out which one is better than the other, we will compare the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI and the Roborock S6 MaxV by using three important criterias:
- Cleaning Performance
- Navigation
- Bonus Features
Based on our experience, the three simple, yet important criterias above are more than enough to decide which one is better. After all, we like to make your decision process easier, not overwhelm you with random information. With that said, here is the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI vs. Roborock S6 MaxV comparison:
1. Cleaning Performance
Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI
When it comes to cleaning performance, the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI has two side brushes and a 420 ml dustbin capacity. However, even with two side brushes, we found the T8 AIVI to pick up less dirt than the Roborock S6 MaxV. We think this is because Ecovacs puts more emphasis on its smart navigation system.
Roborock S6 MaxV
The Roborock S6 MaxV, on the other hand, has one side brush only and has a 460 ml dustbin capacity. However, the S6 MaxV is excellent thanks to its phenomenal 2500Pa of suction power. Using cat litter, we found the T8 AIVI needs two rounds of cleaning, while the S6 MaxV can get the job done in one round.
WINNER: The Roborock S6 MaxV wins the cleaning performance category. With more suction power and a larger dustbin capacity, the Roborock S6 MaxV is excellent in picking up dirt. Even though the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI has two brushes, the Roborock S6 MaxV is better at picking up dirt in one go.
2. Navigation
Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI
Equipped with advanced mapping and obstacle detection technology, the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI identifies, recognizes, and intelligently decides how to clean around obstacles like shoes and cables so you don't need to clean before cleaning. It does an amazing job of avoiding low items, like cables, better than the S6 MaxV.
While it sometimes bumps into objects gently before turning away, we are very impressed with its ability to detect objects up to 30 centimeters away, including its millimeter accuracy that can detect objects as tiny as one millimeter. This made the Ozmo T8 AIVI surprisingly good at detecting cables and avoiding them.
Roborock S6 MaxV
While the Roborock S6 MaxV can avoid obstacles very well, it often gets stuck around small objects and low-hanging cables, as we have to untangle it often. This is a huge issue especially if you plan to use it in an office with many cables on the ground. It does, however, map any layout brilliantly.
One thing that the S6 MaxV has that the T8 AIVI does not have, however, is the dual camera system. This allows the robot vacuum to act as a monitor in which you can remotely view, and even control the robot when you are not home. You can even send audio messages to be replayed on the robot vacuum!
WINNER: While it is a close contest, we give the Roborock S6 MaxV the edge when it comes to navigation. Thanks to its advanced obstacle avoidance system, it can avoid objects like few robot vacuums can. Additionally, you can manually and remotely control the robot vacuum, just like an RC car.
3. Bonus Features
Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI
As far as additional features go, Ecovacs has done a great job of providing them to its customers. If you hate getting your hands dirty, the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI has an auto-empty station that will clear the dustbin each time the robot has finished cleaning. It also charges the robot vacuum as well.
Additionally, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI comes with disposable mopping pads that you can easily replace. Not only are they cheap, but they are simply more hygienic than reusable mopping pads. Just be sure to buy the right mopping pads if you wish to utilize the mopping feature of the T8 AIVI.
One thing about the Ozmo T8 AIVI that we really like is that the mopping system has a high-frequency vibration. The motor vibrates the mopping pad so it helps agitate and remove stubborn dirt and grime. We found that the vibration mopping works better than the standard non-motorized mopping system.
Roborock S6 MaxV
The S6 MaxV is well-known for its mopping capabilities. This is apparent in its extra large 297ml electronic water tank capacity, compared to the T8 AIVI’s 240ml water tank. Additionally, you can adjust the water flow level depending on your needs. It does a great job of not over-saturating the pad with water.
However, the Roborock S6 MaxV does not come with an auto-emptying station which means you need to empty the dustbin and wash the mopping pad after each cleaning run. Compared to the Deebot, which comes with disposable mopping pads, the S6 MaxV needs more maintenance from your end.
WINNER: When it comes to bonus features, the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI is the clear-cut winner. Personally, we love it over the S6 MaxV for one simple reason: disposable mopping pads. We prefer a disposable cloth rather than a reusable cloth because it feels more hygienic. The self-emptying station is also a big plus!
Final Verdict
FINAL WINNER: Roborock S6 MaxV
Overall, we recommend the Roborock S6 MaxV simply because of two reasons: its superior suction power and remote control navigation. It is rare to find an excellent 2-in-1 robot vacuum/mop hybrid, so finding one that can also be controlled via the smartphone app is a big win for us. Worth every penny!
And there you have it, the complete comparison of the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI vs. Roborock S6 MaxV. In all honesty, both robot vacuums are amazing alternatives to regular vacuum cleaners because they can clean your house without you having to do the work. With that said, here is the quick recap:
The auto-emptying station and disposable mopping pads are where the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI excels at. You can let the Deebot do its thing without your supervision and let it do the dirty work for you. If you like automation and don’t like getting your hands dirty, then buy the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI.
However, if you like to have peace of mind when you’re not at home, then the S6 MaxV is for you. Not only does it have better suction power, but the ability to expertly navigate around obstacles while showing you what objects lie around your home is a game-changer. If you want more control, go for the Roborock S6 MaxV.
