How to Use Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution (Manual)

In this post, we will show you how to use the Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution carpet cleaner. This carpet cleaner removes dirt from deep in the carpet fibers, leaving your floors looking, feeling, and smelling like new.

1. Fill up the water tank

Start by filling up the water tank. The Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution has an extra large water tank, so you can clean a large area with less trips to the sink. As you’ll see, there are lines on the back of the tank to show you how much water and cleaning formula to use. Fill the tank with water and formula accordingly.

For the best cleaning results, clean with warm water. The machine uses Heatwave technology, which means the motor gently heats up the water tank and keeps the clean water warm while you’re using it.

Once filled correctly, put the tank back into the machine. At the bottom of the upper handle, align the clean water tank with the grooves and slide the tank into place. Make sure it clicks into place. If you ever think your carpet cleaner is leaking, it’s probably because the water tank is not installed properly.

Now, we are ready to start cleaning.

2. Select cleaning mode

Before you can select a cleaning mode, plug the Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution into a working electrical outlet. With the Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution, you can choose from three cleaning modes:

• Express Clean - With this mode, carpets will dry in about 30 minutes. Perfect for regular cleaning.
• Deep Clean - For carpets that aren’t overly dirty but you still want a thorough clean.
• Max Clean - Perfect if you are cleaning your carpet for the first time or cleaning a high traffic area.

Once you have selected a cleaning mode, press the power button to turn the machine on. To recline your Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution for use, press the recline pedal with your foot. Now you can clean your carpets.

3. Cleaning your carpets

Under the handle, there is a trigger.

When you squeeze the handle, the water is sprayed onto the brush roll at the front. When you let go of the trigger, the water will stop. Here’s how to use the Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution:

To clean the carpet, squeeze the trigger as you go over the area you are cleaning. Then, release the trigger to pull back. Do this nice and slowly, so that the machine picks up most of the water.

Keep going over the same area until the water coming up looks clean, then release the trigger and go over a few more times to remove as much water as possible. Then, you can move to the next area.

After a while, you may notice the noise changes and becomes more high-pitched. That just means that the dirty water tank is full and it’s time to empty it. Remove the dirty water tank and empty it down the sink.

The Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution also has a cleaning hose and a tool for more detailed cleaning and specific areas. It is perfect for cleaning your upholstery, stairs, or small areas of carpet.

4. Using the hose and tool

When using accessory tools, make sure that the machine is secure in an upright position. The Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution comes with a mesh storage bag for your accessories. Have your hose and tool ready to use.

Here’s how to use the Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution hose and tool:

1. Lift the accessory hose store on top of the foot, on the front of the machine. The door flips towards the machine to open.
2. Insert the hose and snap it into place. Be sure the colored hose release clip is facing out and away from the machine.
3. Attach the tough stain tool to the end of the hose.
4. Press the spray trigger button to spray the soiled area.
5. Slowly move the tool back and forth over the area.
6. Release the trigger to suck up the dirty solution.
7. Work in small sections until the area is clean.

When you are finished cleaning, turn the machine on to suction up warm, clean water to rinse the inside of the tool. Detach the hose and tool, and close the accessory hose door. Let the hose and tool air dry before storing. Empty the dirty water tank over the sink and rinse it with water. 

5. Using the bare floor tool

Turn off and unplug your machine. Attach the bare floor tool to the foot’s bottom by lining the tool to the edge of the nozzle. Rotate down until it clicks into place. Fill the clean water tank with water and the Wash & Shine Hard Floor Cleaner formula. Then, switch the cleaning mode to Express Clean.

Plug the machine into an outlet and turn the machine on. Clean by pressing the spray trigger for 1 wet pass forward, 1 wet pass back, and then release the spray trigger and make 1 dry pass forward, 1 dry pass back.

When you are finished cleaning, unplug the machine and remove the bare floor tool by rotating the tool up to unhook from the nozzle. Rinse and let the bare floor tool and the machine dry before storing.

To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock when cleaning a hard floor, the Bissell Bare Floor Tool must be used, and is only to be used with the Bissell Wash & Shine Hard Floor Cleaner formula only.
