Bissell Pet Stain Eraser Troubleshooting

Whether your Bissell Pet Stain Eraser is experiencing loss of suction or no spray at all, you can always troubleshoot any issue. Below are 5 Bissell Pet Stain Eraser problems and their solutions:

1. Reduced suction or no suction

If Bissell Pet Stain Eraser has reduced suction or no suction at all, it could be because of:

  • Dirty water tank is full - Empty the dirty water tank.
  • Dirty water tank drain plug is loose - Check the plug for a snug fit.
  • Batteries are weak or undercharged - Recharge according to instructions.
  • Dirty water tank is not properly installed - Snap the tank into place.

2. Reduced suction or no suction on the window tool (select models)

If Bissell Pet Stain Eraser has reduced suction or no suction at all on the window tool, it could be because of:

  • Nozzle improperly installed - Remove and reinstall the nozzle. Remove the clean water tank and locate the latch at the top of the nozzle. Pull the tab and rotate back to separate it from the unit. Replace the front nozzle by hooking the lower edge onto the unit and snapping it into place. Now, place the clean water tank back into the unit.
  • Squeegee is tilted away from the window - Ensure the squeegee is against the window.
  • Improperly attached window tool - Remove and reinstall the window tool.

3. Reduced spray or no spray

If Bissell Pet Stain Eraser has reduced spray or no spray at all, it could be because of:

  • Solution/clean tank is empty - Refill the solution/clean tank.
  • Pump is not primed - While the unit is turned on, press the spray trigger and gently rock the Pet Stain Eraser back and forth.
  • Batteries are weak or undercharged - Recharge according to instructions.
  • Spray tip is clogged - Rinse the tip with clean water and use a paperclip if needed, then replace it back on the machine.
  • Formula line is clogged - Rinse the tip with clean water and use a paperclip if needed, then replace it back on the machine.
  • Clean tank is not fully inserted - Ensure the clean tank is securely seated by removing and then replacing.

4. Not turning on (no power) and not charging

If you feel your Bissell Pet Stain Eraser has no power and/or not charging, the charger plug or cord may not be connected properly. Make sure the charger plug is completely plugged into an outlet and the charging cord is plugged into the port found on the back of the unit. Blue lights on top of the battery should illuminate.

When the charging cord is plugged in, are all 3 blue lights blinking? If not, unplug the machine from the wall and test a different device in the same outlet. If the outlet does not work for the other device, test the charger in a different electrical outlet. Be sure to charge the unit for 4 hours prior to first use.

If the Bissell Pet Stain Eraser is still not turning on or not charging, you may be using the incorrect charger. Use only the charger that came with your machine. The model number on the back of the charger should be SSA-100060US for Bissell Pet Stain Eraser.

Unplug the charger from both the machine and outlet. Run your hand over the entire length of the cord and check for any damage, rips, or punctures. Inspect the prongs for damage. If damaged, buy a new charger.

5. Unit is leaking

If Bissell Pet Stain Eraser is leaking, it could be because of:

  • Formula tank is not properly seated - Ensure the tank is fully seated.
  • Dirty tank plug is not sealed properly - Ensure the plug has a snug fit.
  • Dirty tank is full - Empty the tank and replace it back on the machine.
  • Unit is not level - When using the machine, make sure to always use it at an upright level position.
