Top 4 Steam Mops With Scrubber
I have always done the mop-and-bucket thing. What a drag. Carrying the bucket, wetting and wringing out the mop, and when you're done you have to wait forever for the floor to dry.
Not only that, but the floor still isn't CLEAN.
If this is you and you need a change, consider the best steam mop that scrubs. You’ll no longer have to scrub dirt with your hands and knees on the floor. Here are the top 4 steam mops with scrubber tools:
1. Best overall: Shark Lift-Away Pro Steam Pocket Mop
The best steam mop with scrubber is definitely the Shark Lift-Away Pro Pocket Steam Mop. It comes with two types of scrubber (Triangle Scrubber Pad and Triangle Scrubber Dirt Grip™ Pad).
The triangle scrubber is a powerful, compact accessory that gets deep into hard-to-reach areas, corners, and edges. With the triangle scrubber, the steam is directed where you need it for a concentrated deep clean. Once you’re done scrubbing, use the triangle Dirt Grip™ pads to scrub away tough, stuck-on messes.
Honestly, I think the entire purchase of this Shark steam mop is worth it just for the scrubber attachment. Because they’re washable, I hate when I have to wait for the scrubber pads to get dry from the washing machine because I get excited to scrub the heck out of my floors.
Before buying this steam mop, I used to take an entire afternoon with hot water, rags, and toothbrushes just to clean my kitchen floors. Even after all that effort, there would be a sticky grease somewhere I had missed.
Thanks to this scrubbing Shark steam mop, I never have to do that again. Using the scrubber, I can finish the inside and outside of every cabinet door, the fronts, sides, and top of every appliance in just 30 minutes.
Overall, I’m very happy with this steam mop. It’s one of the best steam mops with a scrubber and I can't say enough about it. Had I known that I never have to scrub floors again, I would have bought this a lot sooner!
The only thing I would change is making the cord longer. While it boasts a relatively long cord (22 feet), you still need to make sure there is an electrical outlet nearby before you go to work. Other than that, there is nothing to complain about. This Shark steam mop works like a charm.
2. Most versatile: Bissell Power Steamer
Coming at second is the Bissell Power Steamer. It’s equipped with a variety of tools to clean many different things, from stovetops to windows, making it the most versatile steam mop with scrubber on this list.
The Bissell Power Steamer provides you with an arsenal of scrubbing tools to tough messes. With the purchase of this steam mop, you’ll get 4 nylon bristles brushes, 4 brass bristle brushes, and 4 grout tools.
The nylon bristle brush provides scrubbing power for everyday messes on a variety of surfaces. On the other hand, the brass bristle brush provides scrubbing power for extra-tough messes on durable surfaces.
When using the brass bristle brush, please test it in a small, hidden area before use to ensure the surface will not be damaged. That just goes to show how powerful the brass bristle brush is.
Lastly, the grout tool is designed to scrub messes from grout on indoor and outdoor sealed hard surfaces. It’s relatively slim, so you can scrub grout lines vertically and remove all the dirt thoroughly.
In addition to the scrubbing tools, you’ll also get a flat scraper tool (for scraping stuck-on messes), angle concentrator tool, flat surface tool and mop pad, fabric steamer, and window squeegee tool.
This is why the Bissell Power Steamer is the most versatile on this list. Not only is it one of the best steam mops with scrubber, but it’s also capable of cleaning a variety of items and surfaces.
If you’re looking for a scrubbing steam mop but you also need to clean other things in your house (like kitchen countertops and windows), you should buy the Bissell Power Steamer due to its versatility.
3. Budget option: PurSteam Steam Mop
I think the PurSteam ticks all of the boxes in what I look for in a scrubbing steam mop. I like how the mop head is big enough to sanitize one room in a short amount of time, yet small enough to fit into tight spaces.
In addition to the mop head’s perfect size, I like how the mop head pivots too. The cord is not relatively long (16 feet), but I can easily reach into hard-to-reach places and clean each room just fine.
The water tank is pretty standard and nothing to go crazy about. It’s not too big or too small. Based on my experience, the steam lasts about 15 minutes. But what I truly adore from this steam mop is the scrubber.
I have an old linoleum floor in the kitchen where the only way to get it clean is to scrub it while I’m on my hands and knees. Although nothing really beats a scrub brush, this was a close second.
It removes stubborn dirt and grime far better than a regular mop. And the best part is, using a steam mop is basically safer because it’s considered chemical-free cleaning. I get to do my part to protect the environment.
The only minor drawback I noticed is that the mop makes full contact with the floor during the forward motion but the front part lifts slightly during the backwards motion. It’s nothing to complain about and it still does a great job, but it would probably be even better if it had continuous contact.
I also steamed the carpets and area rugs using the PurSteam steam mop and it seemed to freshen them up, especially if you vacuum both before and after it dries. The handheld unit is great, as it allows me to clean little items and small areas, like kitchen countertops, quickly.
Considering its price, the PurSteam is a functional steam mop with scrubber. In fact, it is one of the rare steam mops that costs less than $100. So, in terms of the best scrubbing steam mop, this is the most affordable.
4. Honorable mention: Bissell PowerFresh
Last but not least, the Bissell PowerFresh finishes the list of the best steam mops with scrubber. The Bissell PowerFresh steam mop is packed with a variety of special features, which I think are useful.
First, it has a Smart Set steam control, which gives you the option to choose between low, medium, or high steam. Using the steam mop is super easy. Once the indicator light stops blinking, the PowerFresh steam mop is ready to use. Then you can choose the level of steam you want.
Second, the Bissell PowerFresh comes with a removable water tank. The water tank is located on top of the unit, and can be refilled with water any time during use, which I think is very convenient.
I really like the removable water tank feature. Compared to other Bissell steam mops, the removable water tank on the Bissell PowerFresh is a game-changer. I don’t have to turn the steam mop upside down over the sink if I need to empty the water tank. Just pop the tank from the unit and refill it.
It is important that you do not add any chemicals inside the water tank of the steam mop (add water only). Adding cleaning solutions or chemicals may cause a break down of the gasket and/or parts of the machine.
And finally, the removable easy scrubber. It is designed to help you clean sticky messes from floors. It is also great for cleaning grout lines. Combined with the steam, the scrubber will remove stubborn grime.
To use the scrubber, press the tool with your foot to lock it into position. Once the scrubber is in position, it will stay behind the mop head. The scrubber will automatically scrub the floor as you push the steam mop.
I think the design of the scrubber is unique. It is very convenient because the scrubber tool is strategically placed on the back of the mop head and all you have to do to use it is to press it down.
However, I think the scrubber is not as effective as other scrubber tools because it does not give you the ability to control the scrubbing power. The scrubber just sits there and moves together with the steam mop.
Unlike a manual scrubber (where you can add force with your hand for more power), the Bissell PowerFresh steam mop’s scrubber tool just drags itself along with the steam mop without much force.
It’s great for daily cleaning and maintenance, but for tougher jobs, I don’t think the Bissell PowerFresh’s scrubber tool is the best one out there. Sure, it’s convenient, but it lacks cleaning power.
And that is why I placed the Bissell PowerFresh on the bottom of the list. The Bissell PowerFresh is a great steam mop with plenty of useful features but its scrubber tool is not the most effective in my opinion.
