Best Eufy RoboVac (for all purposes)
Different houses have different needs. Whether you're looking to clean up after pet hair or make hardwood floors shine, there is a Eufy RoboVac for each purpose. Here are the top 3 Eufy RoboVac options:
1. Best for pet hair: Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid
The best Eufy RoboVac for pet hair is the X8 Hybrid. It is able to pick up almost 95% of pet hair from carpets and hardwood floors, thanks to its four levels of suction power. Setting the robot up is also super easy.
Pet hair is no match for this robot vacuum
Picking up pet hair is where the Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid performed best. Advertised as a “pet hair magnet” by Eufy, this robot vacuum was able to pick up close to 95% of pet hair on both carpet and hardwood floors.
One of my friends moved to a bigger house and she had two long-haired cats. I gave her this robovac as a gift. She said that this Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid can fill its entire dustbin with pet hair and fur, even though she had just finished vacuuming, which is very impressive.
Within the dustbin, you’ll find a filter. Both should be cleaned regularly to provide optimal performance, especially if you have pets running around the house. There’s a handy brush attachment that lets you quickly get rid of excess dirt within the robot itself, with a dedicated hair removal tool.
Overall, the Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid puts the twin-turbine technology to good use, making easy work of pet hair, dust and other debris on my thick pile carpet running at maximum suction power.
Setup is easy and mapping is good
Setting up the Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid is a walk in the park. After downloading the EufyHome app and connecting the robot to my Wi-Fi network, I was able to control everything using my smartphone.
This particular robot has 4 levels of suction (Pure, Power, Turbo, and Max). If you’re not sure which one to use, just enable the BoostIQ option, which automatically increases suction power based on the floor type.
In terms of mapping, the Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid is definitely better than the previous iterations of Eufy robovacs, which have a tendency to get stuck in certain rooms. The laser guidance on this robot makes a map, which allows you to clean specific areas, and even leaves a nice pattern on the carpet.
Comes with a mopping function
Unlike the typical robot vacuum, the Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid vacuums and mops at the same time, which in my opinion, is a huge time saver. The caveat, however, is that you should keep an eye on it.
Like any robot vacuum/mop combo, the Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid focuses more on vacuuming than mopping. The reusable microfiber pad will casually pick up dirt on your floors, but don’t expect miracles.
I would prefer mopping my floors rather than letting this robovac mop because I can do a better job. This robovac is better for a supplementary cleaning job, or when you feel lazy mopping your floors.
2. Best for carpet: Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid
Not all robot vacuums work on carpet. Sometimes it gets stuck or the brushes get tangled within the carpet fibers. Which is why you need a special robot vacuum for carpets and area rugs.
The best Eufy RoboVac for carpet is the G30 Hybrid. While it’s not suitable for thick 1-inch carpets, this robovac can pick up fine dust, cookie crumbs and larger debris, including cereal, from medium-pile carpets.
Picks up dirt from carpets very well
For a robovac that is not ultra expensive, the Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid cleans carpet incredibly well. I have kids running around the house who leave food crumbs on area rugs, and this little thing helps me pick dirt up.
On test, the Eufy G30 Hybrid impressed with its suction power on both carpets and hard floors. It collected fine dust, cookie crumbs and larger debris, including cereal, with ease, even on the lowest power setting.
Most impressively, the noise level stayed low on the carpet. Robot vacuums often need stronger suction power to pull debris from a carpet or rug, but the G30 Hybrid just creates a subtle hum that is not annoying.
While it’s not recommended to use this robovac on super thick and plush carpets (thickness over 26 mm or 1.02 inches), it is still able to navigate on medium carpets and area rugs, which I appreciate.
Even without cameras, it navigates intelligently
Before purchasing this robot, I was skeptical because I’ve owned plenty of robot vacuums that navigate poorly. Some robots need cameras to navigate properly, but I don’t feel secure giving my privacy away.
Much to my surprise, this Eufy RoboVac G30 Hybrid navigates and leaves neatly vacuumed rows without even using cameras. That just goes to show how amazing the software engineers at Eufy/Anker are.
Not only does this robovac map a house very well, it also leaves vacuum lines after cleaning the carpet, which I really appreciate. Those of you who cleans the yard often will definitely love this!
The only downsides of not having a camera is that you cannot set virtual boundaries (but you can use boundary strips), you can create a cleaning route or path, and you cannot choose a specific area for cleaning.
Get the Hybrid instead of the regular
The Eufy RoboVac G30 comes in two types: the regular one and the Hybrid. I recommend getting the Hybrid because it comes with a dual vacuuming and mopping function. The regular one only vacuums.
Additionally, the G30 Hybrid comes included with a boundary strip. This simple piece of tape allows you to create boundaries on your floors to prevent this robot from going through. Simple, yet effective.
3. Best for hardwood floors: Eufy RoboVac 15C MAX
Hardwood floors are the easiest surface for robot vacuums. However, you need to make sure that the robot vacuum is capable of cleaning wood floors without damaging the surface.
The best Eufy RoboVac for hardwood floors is the 15C MAX. It has everything you need to pick up debris from hardwood floors while making sure the surfaces are not scratched. This machine is affordable too.
Unlike other robot vacuums that are expensive, the Eufy 15C MAX offers great value and comes at a price that doesn’t break the bank. After all, you don’t need the fanciest robot vacuum to clean hardwood floors.
Great performance on hardwood
Cleaning hardwood floors is no problem for the Eufy RoboVac 15C MAX. Both fine dust and food crumbs, including larger pieces of oats, were picked up effortlessly using the Standard power setting.
The robovac is quiet enough to run while you are sleeping, yet powerful enough to pick up a dime off the floor. Just remember to clear items off the floor before you go to bed, especially phone cords and chargers.
However, because this robotvac does not have mapping technology, the cleaning pattern doesn’t always look logical. Sometimes it’ll go in straight lines, sometimes seek out the edges of a room, but it does result in the entire room being cleaned, even if it can take some time.
The lack of mapping also means that you’re unable to define specific areas, relying on the Spot cleaning mode to handle the job, and needing to physically ‘fence off’ areas where you don’t want it to go.
That being said, the Eufy RoboVac 15C MAX is good enough to clean hardwood floors, especially considering its price. It’s not as expensive as other Eufy RoboVacs, making it a solid choice.
Excellent value for its price
There is a reason why this particular Eufy RoboVac is a best seller on Amazon. It may look identical to the RoboVac 11s, with the same 2.8 inches slim design that can easily maneuver under furniture, but under the hood of the Eufy RoboVac 15C Max you’ll find better suction and Wi-Fi connectivity.
This means that you can use the EufyLife app on your smartphone to control this particular robovac rather than just the remote control. It is also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant.
Equally important is that this robovac is affordable. It’s slightly more expensive than the RoboVac 11S, but the smartphone app gives you the ease to set schedules, locate your robot, check its battery, and control it using voice command. Now that’s a good deal in my opinion.
